History of Island

Thasos, located just 7nm from Keramoti, is a green paradise with beautiful landscapes and sandy beaches. Ferries are departing from Keramoti port every half an hour.

Thasos or “Emerald Island” as it is most known, is famous for its rich vegetation and lush forests that make the island a popular destination. The history of the island begins in the 7th century BC when the first citizens arrived from Paros island following a prophecy from Pythia, Delphi by Telesiclis. To protect their great city, the Thassians built one of the largest navies in the Aegean.

Thasos is having some of the clearest and cleanest waters in the Aegean is the perfect place for scuba diving. Explore these waters with diving masks and air tanks and discover the natural treasures that are hidden underneath the surface.
